I'd try the 50 dollar rebuild before plunking 12 times as much on a new compressor.

If the compressor still runs, then you don't need the compressor - just the seal kit. If the compressor doesn't actually run (which is rare) then you might need the new one.

You don't have to twist my arm to save some $, sounds good to me guys! This may be the cheapest fix yet for this car, even cheaper than a tank of gas (I'll hold my excitement until it's actually fully functional again though). Thanks Ricky Bobby and ants_oz!

I'll post back once the kit is delivered and installed.

Hopefully the OP has the same situation.

Good luck with it guys, just remember after replacing the seal with the rebuild kit (and I only endorse the Bagpipingandy's kit, as some have reported a lot of the "copies" are inferior quality material and still leak), you need to reset the faults with DIS to clear the error on the dash.
