I did not connect directly to the ignition switch. I used an empty slot in the fuse box under the glove box that is only live when the ignition is on.

Thanks Jay, I'm really pleased with the look/performance so far and I'm thinking of LED "no error" bulbs for the turn signals and possible some high output LED bulbs for the high beam as well.
But first I have to get the driver's door regulator changed out (today) so I can close the stupid window!! Now I am 3 out of 4 and the price keeps climbing each time I do it.

The problem with the Turn signal LED bulbs and the high beam LED bulbs is that to find proper 9005 and 3157 error free Canbus bulbs will run you about 40-50 per pair. And even then, you'll have to code off the cold monitoring.

I replaced my license plate lights with super bright LED bulbs but even though they are canbus bulbs they would still throw the occasional error due to bulb checks so I had to code it off.

I'd say get some Stealth bulbs for the turn signals and maybe an all weather halogen H7 or perhaps a xenonmatch H7 for the inner beam and you'd be happy. But, I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up with!

I did Hoen (SP?) Xenon match bulbs when I first did the Xenon retro but the bulbs burned out in less than a year. For the price I was not a happy camper and went with SilverStars to replace them.
Not rushing into anything at the moment as the field keeps changing quicker than you can keep up with it.

I have LEDs interior, license plate and side marker lights. No problem with errors. I upgraded to HID fog lights, no problem there either.

I purchased Spektrum LED turn signals. They were supposed to be error free, they were not. The seller sent me resistors that solved the problem.

Yes they are if you already had that feature on your vehicle to start with. The motors are installed and fitted with factory style plugs.
