I think I know which thread you're referencing slick, it was for angel eyes as a DRL....IIRC, with his install he used the purple entertainment wire as a trigger, but tapped the main power for his rings somewhere in the ecu box. The added slight draw from circuits that are otherwise sensitive to voltage fluctuations is likely what caused his issues.

Yea something along those lines, and he got the 4x4 issue and his trans went nuts.

That grinding in park sounds nuts. You really need to get under and start diagnosing.

From what Im seeing on ebay…
the 4.4 will fit a 4.8is Transmission

04 05 06 BMW x5 4 4L Auto Transmission 105K LKQ | eBay

Transfer Case Actuator Fits also

Welcome to bavauto.com | Transfer Case Actuator

So Mostlikely I may End up just adding a Rebuilt Trq Converter while the tranny is being swapped..

While it's a good news that the tranny might fit, I would check with some experts beside eBay.
Best of luck, M.

30 days warranty on a use trans is not much of a warranty. Especially if you have to pay for the removal and return shipment.

If you do replace the trans, don't forget to flush any ATF in the torque converter and trans cooler. If the trans did grenade you don't want to contaminate the new/use trans.

I think this is the reason why your trans or transfer case crapped out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUVwKUUt2wc

If you want to drift a car better to do it in a RWD not a AWD. Don't think the transfer case was designed to handle that must wheel spin difference between the front wheels and the rear wheels without something breaking.
