X's...Never again!!!!!!

I'll try to keep it short.....

Both my X's are giving me a hard time. I won't go into ALL thats been done on them in the last year but I will only go back a few weeks ago.

One morning on the E70, cold morning , no start. Missed one day of work and changed the battery.
Three days later on the E53 , cold morning, no start. This time managed to boost it and went to work with it. I went out and bought a new battery with my working vehicle and changed the battery in the warehouse where I work. Came out of the warehouse and noticed a huge oil spill. That was December 20th and had a towing bring it to dealer. Got it today ...1100$
This morning , wife rides with the E70 to go to work and calls me at 8am to let me know she pulled over because of a loud noise and while she inspected the exterior , noticed all the coolant spill....so, I leave work (missed another day) called the towing and took it to dealer.
I had to take it to the dealer this time also cause my E53 was there and ready and was left with no car so I picked it up at the same time I brought the E70....You think the guys at the dealer laughed ??? Imagine this , I have my E53 ready to pick up and I'm coming over with my E70 on a flatbed to make the switch.....it's pathetic!!!

Even better , on Jan 3 , it got cold that night and with a brand spanking new battery on the E70 , it wouldn't start in the morning....my dad started his old 2001 ford escape to come and boost me. At the same time , my friend with his 2010 3 serie called me to ask for help cause his wouldn't start either.....WTF!!!!!

I take so good care of both X's maintenance wise and this is what I get.
I'm sad to say but I've had it with my X's and probably with BMW all together.

I know this is a BMW thing....These are my 7th and 8th BMW and I've never had this much problems.

It's hard going back to anything else for bmw fanatics like most of us right?
I'm biting my tongue not to say I'd buy a BMW with a warranty

To be honest , I really don't know what would please me more than a BMW....

Listen, I have been toying with the idea of selling my much much reliable subaru legacy to get a a manual car to compliment the truck....and guess which brand i kept going to? Yep...a BMW..... 530 or 525 E39 body style. To a lesser degree the 36 M3, E46 330 with the ZHP package.

I looked at every single brands out there...every model. Some brands are too expensive..like a porsche and I am not interested in a new car.

I say this to say, IMO, these cars are addictive.

Yup , I think you are right. They are addictive. The best I had was a 2001 E46 M3 .. I liked driving that car so much , I even drove it through winters. Kept it for 3 years and probably put 1K repairs on it tops....

Even though I sound pissed at my X's right now , I paid the 1100$ today at the stealer but the min I hit the road with my 4.8 beast , huge smile on my face. I'm a BMW junky I guess

What you clearly need is one more BMW in the quiver. You then have a decent chance that one or two will be in fully functional condition at any one time. I used to keep three and that tactic worked out pretty well. Thinking of doing that again. How about a nice V8 M3 as your spare?
