ULF module

When it rains, it pours. All of a sudden today my phone can't find the bluetooth in the car... Just stays on Activate Phone and when I try and connect through the phone, it just tells me that it can't find it and to check its in range. It is just that the ULF module has sh*t itself and it needs replacing? Is it as simple as taking the old one out and sticking a new one in?

Like any other module for the BM Trouble U, you will probably need to get it coded in order for it to work withe X.

Try a power reset (pull then reinsert the fuse or power to the ULF).

Yeah tried the fuses last night without luck. I might disconnect the battery as well and see if that helps. Any other ideas would be welcome. I'd prefer not to get a new module if I can avoid it.

I guess my other question is if I do need to get a new module, do I go for the latest one (ver13) or does it not make much difference? I've got an '05 car so I'd have one of the later ones anyway.

My last question is how on earth do you get access to the module. It's right down the bottom below the GPS drive

Lift & secure the cargo floor w/the strap-hook made for it or remove the cargo floor altogether (hopefully you don't have the roll-out floor)...then remove the left piece that's below the cargo floor and next to the ULF (see #6 in diagram below). There should be a couple of nuts down in the wells that secures that rear left piece...this will give you access to the ULF. You can actually see the top left part of #6 in your pic.

Item #6 is secured by nuts (#4 in the diagram):

Ta. Yeah it's a solid floor which just comes out so access is no problem. Thanks for your help.

you probably have a 5th or 6th gen module - in my '06 model i had 5th gen module... it had VR but not the recognition for the VR for nav... i installed 12th gen ULF, much smaller unit, it has the VR for phone, notebook and Nav...

there is a 54-pin connector on the opposite end of that module - check for loose pins, corrosion... water from sunroof likes to collect in the side pockets if not drained properly... yours is probably just a ULF and not a combined Telematics unit...

check wires...

I will. Thanks for the heads up. I'll look for a later module because I don't have VR for anything. If I push the VR button on the wheel it just dials the last number dialled through the car system.
