Rear window wont go up - Page 2

Ok, got the rear door panel off (PITA) and hooked a battery to the motor and the window when up. It seems that the problem is electrical and not mechanical. All of the other windows work fine but this one. Do they have separate fuses? Where are the fuses for the windows located?

you can check the fuses F14 and F60 - they are not directly wired to the window switches, they feed the GM, supposedly for the rear window functions...

swap the windows switch - what if the switch is malfunctioning?

Check the wiring harness, including the flexible loom at the door jamb.

All good but when I pulled 14 the siren when off.

If you have ruled out the motor, switch, and regulator as causes, then consider that it might be a bad relay in the GM (general module). In my (and a number of other people's) experience, the rear windows would intermittently fail. Check out this link for a discussion. It is the relay on the GM3 module. Had the same thing happen to me on my 2005 X5. See the site BMW General Module 5 (GMV, ZKE V) for info. He also sells the relays.

I used a battery to roll the window up and unplugged the motor to leave the window in the up position for now.
