Low tire pressure indicator

How long will it take for the dash light to go out after having a tire fixed, pressure was about 22# ($31.00 sheetrock screw)...aggghhhh

My light will go out if I stop and press and hold the (!) button - 5-10 seconds. Not sure if the engine has to be off, but I don't think so.

Just press and hold the TPMS button until the light goes out. It will reset the system and relearn the current pressures.

3 Steps to Reset Flat Tire Monitor

1. Engine must be running,
2. press button
3. vehicle must be driven...see the instructions from the owners manual below:

Exactly. The goal isn't just to defeat the light, but to reset the system so that it can warn you of a low pressure again.

There ya go...the last HTML tag after "exactly" was missing the slash " / " in front of the "B" .

And for those that didn't know the explanation as to why the 3rd step to resetting the Flat Tire Monitor is important...the e53 (from 4/04-up) uses the "indirect" TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) where the ABS sensors calculate the wheels rotation. When a tire looses air pressure, it no longer rotates the same amount of times, so a change in one or more of the tire's rotation...indicates that tire pressure is lower than when the system was initialized.
