My light will go out if I stop and press and hold the (!) button - 5-10 seconds. Not sure if the engine has to be off, but I don't think so.

Just press and hold the TPMS button until the light goes out. It will reset the system and relearn the current pressures.

3 Steps to Reset Flat Tire Monitor
1. Engine must be running,
2. press button 3. vehicle must be driven...see the instructions from the owners manual below: ![]() ![]()

Exactly. The goal isn't just to defeat the light, but to reset the system so that it can warn you of a low pressure again.

When a tire looses air pressure, it no longer rotates the same amount of times, so a change in one or more of the tire's rotation...indicates that tire pressure is lower than when the system was initialized. ![]()
