Key fob issues, not the typical issues

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and had a question about my key fob. I have 2 factory keys, both have new batteries, I have tried the several different ways I've found to reprogram them, but no luck. I don't think it's the central locking system because the interior lock/unlock option still works and I can use the key in the door to lock/unlock. Any where to start looking is much appreciated, I am car savvy and have the manual. Thanks!

My 2 cents

I had to replace my body module for my x5

Issue : intermittent rear door lock n unlock issue
Problem: basic module 3 relay
Solution : replace the unit and re program
Or have the old unit repaired (google or YouTube gm3 & gm5 repair)

I had similar problems with my key. At first I thought it was the key battery that was dead so I sprung for a second key but it wouldn't program at all. After several hours of trying my mechanic finally realized the body module was dead.

If you don'tgive us the details of the instructions you followed...how will we know if you were following the correct ones? We can't see or know what you did unless you write the details or explain.

I'd hate to see you spend money and time on exensive repairs when all you needed to do is follow the correct instructions for programming the FZV/DWA features of the remote keys. The procedure is specific...and if you skip, combine, ignore a step...programming will fail.

Did you follow the instructions like the ones in this thread that was further down the first page of this forum? Click this link and follow the tips & instructions: http://www.xoutpost.com/984423-post4.html
