Can I pop the lock on passenger's side door on 2002 X5

Battery is dead and the driver's door won't open from the outside. Can the passenger's door lock be popped with a slim jim? Can the hood be released from the outside without damaging the hood release.

Cheapest and easiest way is to pop the plastic grill in the hood and release the hood catch. Then you can connect a charger or jump battery to the charge ports under the hood and use your remote to unlock the car.
