Oil separator and ccv updates
Saw lots of issues with the ccv and oil separators and the fixes. I pulled down the two SIB's from March 2009 (11 01 07 and 11 08 03 respectively). The ccv one calls for a new cylinder head cover. I'm sure that's not cheap or on the shelf. Has anyone here done the proper updates for both recently? Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure it'll tickle to source the parts too. Thanks. |

I'm guessing you don't have a 3.0 bc the fix does not call for a new cylinder hesd

2006 4.4 (but not officially yet)
I saw the warming jackets, but that was a 2004 bulletin release. The latest SIBs show the new head cover and parts that put the ccv outside of the head cover on the right side. If I go and do the ccv and oil separator upgrade, will this prevent the hydrolock or severe expulsion of oil out of my new valve cover gasket job? Looking for someone who has done these fixes in cold climates to weigh in with their experience. Hoping to hear repairs done and problem gone. ![]() Thanks. |
