C4.. you might want to take a peek at your timing chain guides, m62's usually need some attention in that area around 150k and since you'll already be digging around in there. might be worth a look

You sound like the right kind of person to own a bimmer. I cringe at people who buy used bimmers out of warranty and then take them to the shop for everything. They won't be happy. There incredible cars to drive easy to wrench on but parts aren't the cheapest and shops get hung up on the roundel. They certainly have their qwerks although as of now (knock on wood) my 4 months of x5 ownership have been very smooth.

If you like nice things and working on your own cars BMW's are awesome!!
