If you are trying to get to 87.3 using the automatic search it won't work. Only way is go to the station manually. The modulator should work automatically when your radio is on 87.3

The most frequently used modules are the Grom and Dice Mediabridge offerings. Haven't noticed anyone mentioning the Blitzsafe so it may not be available for an X5. Some have wired in the features they wanted or found options out there to add just bluetooth or an AUX connection. Grom is less expensive of the full featured options, the Mediabridge has more features and options but also costs much more. I have the Mediabridge with the satellite radio option--very pleased. I think Upallnight went the Grom route and is also very happy. The smartphone apps were not out there when I chose the route I went. Done today, I would first see if just bluetooth and/or an AUX plug would suffice.

Strange, the lowest FM station I can get to on the X or my E46 M3 is 87.7 even in manual mode... Can you guys get to 87.3?

The blitzsafe isn't shown on their website but it IS available. Looks like a great option. Perhaps I'll have to be the test dummy

The FM frequency range in the USA is 87.5-108 MHz...perhaps the original owner mistyped the FM modulator's RF. If you know the name brand of the FM modulator...try googling the name to see if you can find out anything about the modulator and the RF that it works on.

Or try some of the radio station preset buttons...personally, if I was using something like this...I'd have the FM modulator's RF programmed so that I could go to it immediately when needed...especially after listening to another radio station or tape or CD etc. (yeah...some of us still use our old cassette tapes)
