Mine has held up really well and was very much worth the long wait.
I used single stage Nason automotive paint mixed to BMW color code 354 Titan Silver. I did have to wet sand the plate quite a bit as the surface was pretty slick with the aforementioned release agent.

hey Greg, try e-mailing rick (I PM'd you his addy, and its on the first post too) and if he doesnt respond PM me again and I'll see if I can get a hold of him somehow... BUT I'm not sure if he is run out of his stock, or still has a few more.
hope you can track one down. The OE part seems to be near impossible now to find.

Got my skid plate today.
I was expecting a flimsy fiberglass shell. WOW, this item is sturdy! Most impressive item, gives a new meaning to "Made in America" I have a few questions about this plate. 1) do you fit it before painting? 2) if I need to smooth the edges, what do I use? Sandpaper, file, dremel? 3) any special prep or primer required? 4) has anyone tried painting the push pins?

^Glad to hear you like it, and yes its very sturdy!
1) I didn't fit it before painting but its good to do so 2) Probably sandpaper is fine 3) Yes you need to prep with prep solv and primer as you'll notice the surface is very waxy with mold release agent on there 4) I got mine before the push pins were provided but they are probably so unnoticeable like the screws i wouldnt bother
