Question about stock (2002) prefacelift x5 e53 headlights
Hey guys,
I have a 2002 x5 e53, without the AE (unfortunately), I do have the xenon headlights, but I was thinking of getting a brighter headlight. Also, is it possible to change the inside halogens bulbs to xenon bulbs? just a thought; thanks guys

You can get smd led angel eye rings for 55 bucks which go into your headlights.
If you get fresh xenon Philips bulbs your headlights will be much brighter. Don't change the high beam to xenon it's worthless as the xenon ballasts would have to fire each time you use high beam, and they usually don't warm up in time before you turn them off. Plus the fact that it's a halogen reflector, no xenon in there. If you are opening the headlights for angel eye install buy yourself bixenon EvoXR projectors if you want a real upgrade.

What the other two have said, but this is my .02 cents.
Upgrade to a new xenon bulb from a reputable brand. Something like an Osram CBI bulb with a 4300k temperature would give you the most amount of light. If you want to keep your stock projectors, get clear lenses for them. I recall that ZKW lenses fit, not the TSX, so you may need to do some research on that. If you want to upgrade your projectors, I think the FX-R projector is a much better choice than the EvoXR. The high beam is a little weaker, but you get more width and distance on the low beam where it counts. I'm also not a fan if HID in reflector housings. The light scatter would be crazy and I'm not sure how much more light you'd get. You could just get some higher power halogen bulbs in the high beam socket. I think Catz is the name that is thrown around for high intensity halogen bulbs. And yes, go eBay LED angle eyes. The technology is so cheap now and they all come from factories in China whether you buy from an American reseller or Chinese reseller.
