Did a search and found info and examples of people swithching to various knobs but nothing specific on the one listed in the title? Anyone try or have experience with either of the knobs linked below?

Complete garbage. Split completely in half right after the 6 month warranty period ended. Held together with cheap glue instead of snap together plastic catches. Save your money.

Changing a shift knob on an automatic is stupid in my opinion, and the E70 piece doesn't even look right on the E53.

Mrbmwx5 I remember used an SMG E46 automatic knob and that looked ok because at least it was the same generation timeline for the E53

I put one in for fun. Too bad it's not made of metal instead of plastic. The + and - are backwards. Otherwise the lighted indicators are fun.

edit-

Interesting. Found the thread about simply reversing the 2 center wires of the 4 conductor pin to reverse the shift pattern. Then have to order up the matching console display then the car and the knob will match. I'd prefer it that way too as it seems backwards to me now to begin with. Rather have upshifts pushing forward and downshifts pulling back!

It's like this with bicycles too where I'd rather the front brake be the right lever just like motorcycles. Can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess.

edit: holy crap that center con$ole part!
