Replace TCC solenoid before no reverse problem is happen?

Hi, everyone, I'm newbie on this forum. but before my fist post I came this forum often and found a lot of helpful info for purchasing my X5.
I Just pickup my 2006 x5 3.0i today. The truck has 120k on it, excellent exterior and interior, but the valve cover gasket is leaking. I know that is very common on the M54 engine so I'm always prepare to replace it. I'm very happy with this truck so far. This truck gives me a solid felling and it drives very smooth, just a feeling of a BMW.
But I've heard that no reverse problem on 3.0i transmission is very common.
Most of the information that I found online is blame on the TCC solenoid.
so I'm thinking about to replace the TCC solenoid and also clear the valve body to prevent the no reverse problem happen in the future. but don't know if it is necessary to do it right away. since it shifts perfectly right now. the previous owner told me the tanny had serviced at 75k, but not sure what have been done during the service. of cause I'm also planning to change the tranny fluid and filter. any suggestion? Thanks

Just can't stop looking on my E53. 8 year old car still looking stylish in and out. Proud to join the X5 club.

I don't see the logic in replacing the solenoid as a preventative measure if the transmission shifts perfectly. The failure of an electrical component is not necessarily related to component age, so a new one could fail as easily as an old one could. Look up infant mortality rates for electrical devices, and the bathtub curve. The solenoid is also not the only thing that could cause a problem with losing drive; any number of problems in the valve body could do the same.
