While engine running , heat or a/c on , I am hearing a click/click under the hood.

For few weeks now , the wife was telling me that while engine running
some click/click noise was coming from under the hood, so when she come home i took a look and on my test i find out , when i turn a/c on or heater on , there was a click/click from under the hood! so i went to see, and put my had on some hot hoses and i was pointed out to this here:

Don't know the exact name of this part and i can't pin point at realoem what part is this,

Pic:

Not sure if this is the part that is going bad, or why is doing that clicking !

Any advice on this matter?...Will appreciate that.

Thanks.

That's one of your heater control valves which manages the water flow through the heater core. The clicking could be an indication the seat is worn out and making the noise when the plunger is closing.

There are rebuild kits available, but the price for the better quality kits is about $100. Considering the age of your vehicle, I'd spring for a new assembly.
