Berko is on a distinguished road
Sudden, unexpected loss of power.

I was just driving along in my 2001 3.0D X5, minding my own business when there was a sudden 'pop' followed by a loss of power and a cloud of black smoke from the exhaust. There was no indication anything was wrong, the temperature remained the same and a quick look under the bonnet reveals nothing obvious. There are no fluids leaking out from underneath.

I'll obviously have a closer look tomorrow but in the meantime does anyone have any ideas?
