X5 3.0 secondary air injection WTH! NOW W PICS
So I have an OBD secondary air injection code that was reset but reappeared.
First thing I checked was the pump. From a cold start it went on and blew hard. Next I look at the valve. It wasnt open. I looked for the vacuum line to open it but there wasnt one, nor any trace of one. Realoem clearly shows a vacuum line goin to the valve. What gives??! EDIT: Here is the realoem diagram for the secondary air inj system. Note item 1, the valve, and item 3-4, vacuum lines attaching to a fitting on valve housing. ![]() Here is the valve on my motor. Notice the lack of a vacuum fitting for the vacuum hose to attach to: ![]() The valve is closed on cold start, it should be open. It should be actuated by vacuum but there is no place on my valve for a vacuum line to hook up to. No trace of any vacuum line or remnants thereof by the side of the valve cover. According to realoem my valve's part number is 11727540471. Google shows pics of this and they all have a barbed fotting for a vacuum line which mine does not have.
