The phone makes it sound so much worse
 . I've listened to a lot of the videos I can find of the failed guides and they are really, really loud. I'm not there yet. Here is a good video of what it all looks like and what you can do to see if there may be an issue. Requires dropping the oil pan for a close inspection for debris. Seeing as I'm new to the car and I doubt the pan has ever been pulled, next oil change will get a pan drop.
