x5 Gremlins - Hazards, Sun Roof, Cigarette Lighers

Hi team -

2005 X5, 3.0i, Auto. 113,000 Miles. Running problem free for countless miles. Past two days, I'm noticing a few issues - maybe related, maybe not....

1. Sunroof wont close from vent position. I've taken a closer look. I can see the "slider" on the back right side not moving. The slider on the back left is working fine, but without the back right side slider, the roof wont close. I tried prying it with a screw driver, no help.

2. Hazard light on for no reason. No audible alarm, maybe motion sensor going off? Happened a couple of different times in the past day or so, after locking the doors and leaving.

3. Cigarette Lighters not working. None of them, tried all three. Fuse?

All of these issues have started up in the last couple of days. Any ideas? I searched the forum, I really have a hard time finding the relevant posts. Any direction, posts, or guidance would be great.

Thank everyone! Happy Marathon Monday!

Cig lighter I agree is likely a fuse. I had an issue with the hazards doing something similar in my E36 when I had a bad connection at the battery. I would suggest disconnecting the battery, cleaning the cables and terminals, retighten cables. As for the roof, I'm not sure. I don't think mine even opens as far as it should.

Might be unrelated but when things electrical start going wonky, I immediately suspect the battery or alternator. Get them checked.
