Thanks for the welcome and feedback everyone!

What's the story on rims? I assume rims from any E53 year are interchangeable? Like say putting the 4.8is staggered rims on this 02?

I have staggered 168s on my 03, yes all E53 wheels are interchangeable. e70 wheels for as well if you use hub centric rings

welcome and congrats on your x5
  • radio/obc pixels ... or lack of pixels. Can't read anything on the display. Apparently a very common issue. This ribbon cable supposedly fixes this?
I have the same issue. Ordering the ribbon from ebay for $10 and plan doing next week.
    AKSpeedo
  • need an aux input for the stereo ... I can't stand listening to the radio
Just ordered Aux connector cable from amazon for $10. DIY Job
  • Front wiper washer pump doesn't come on. Fuses look fine so maybe the pump is just dead?
Water pump dead. they go rusted after a while. U can get new pump for $9 from ebay. I ordered and very easy to replace. max 30 mins.
  • Front lights are heavily hazed/cloudy.
DIY with 2000, 2500 grit paper wet sanding then power drill with plasticx and plastic shine. You can use the 3M product with a power drill. Both worked best.

Welcome aboard

Rims are interchangeable from 17" to 20" (factory sizes) until you get to your LeMans Blue 4.6/8is - then you forget about the 17", as they will not fit over the brakes...

AUX - a factory cable or a self-made cable + Bluetooth dongle for wireless streaming of Pandora or Tune-In or iHeart radio or whatever tickels your pickle!!!! Early versions of E53 might not have had radios with AUX input...i think, you should be ok...
