Forum searching tip
add rear heated seats site:xoutpost.com This pulls up 2-3 pages of relevant content from this site. You can use this tactic with any other sites that have crappy search features. Note - you don't need the "www" part of the site address. Hope that helps. Search away!

I never use the search feature on this forum or any other forum for that matter. It's a joke. It will not accept three letter words.
Google your promblem or what your searching for and almost always you'll see xoutpost pop up if related to an X5. It's how I found this site. I've done the same for my other vehicle and now I'm a member of the forum that is always popping up with my answers. I joined this site the same way. |

Ditto...been doing searches like this for a while. Its even useful for finding information, images, or DIYs that you've done yourself. Just google the topic (or search phrase/word), the forum (xoutpost, bimmerfest, bimmerforums), model (X5, e38, e39, etc), and your forum member name (or another forum member's name if you think they posted info on the topic).
It's really interesting how using google is quicker than the site. And using google to find vendors that sell a particular part your looking for works to. Just use one of the online part databases to find the 11 digit BMW part nbr...then google "BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" and you'll be surprised how many BMW dealers and aftermarket vendors you'll find...even for some parts you'd think would come up blank.
