Pushing 220,000 miles What maintenance should I do?
So Short story: I purchased my X5 a few years back with 168,000 miles on it. I've done the proper oil changes, spark plugs, etc. What I wanna know is what else should I be looking at? I know there is an oil leak that I have been searching FOREVER to find. That is a definite next fix. I have replaced the alternator, thermostat, fuel sender unit, fuel pump, fuel hose that was leaking, fuel filter, and battery. I don't know the history of the vehicle other than when I purchased it. I don't know if the tranny has been flushed, I don't really know anything about it. I did the spark plugs last year, but not the coils (I completely forget about this, I was going to do it a few weeks after the plugs because I was trying to find a good price for them, and forgot about them until now as I type this. Added to the list). I did the front brakes/rotors last year, and the rear passenger is squeaking, so I'm waiting on my brake job set (Rotors, pads, sensors) to come in to replace those. the shocks seem to be in ok condition, but I don't know what else I should be looking for to change or replace before shit hits the fan. I know that sometimes when I am driving and I go over a speed bump, I hear a squeaking "bed coil" type noise from the front passenger side, I don't know what it is. I don't want to take it to an indy to do an inspection of what is wrong, as I would much rather use that money to purchase parts that I might need. What can I look for and what do I do?

Adrian, at 220K miles you are doing OK!!!
the front noise - check the front bushings, one of them might be shot... lift the corner off the ground and wiggle-wiggle-wiggle the tire - see if there is play in any direction... for coils - no need for OE coils, but OEMs by BOSCH is a good alternative... Bosch is a good german brand...
