How many miles on your N62?

Just passed 110k miles. No leaks whatsoever.
I'm lucky since the first owner (a member on here, Jsears) took really good care of it and the next 2 didn't mess it up either.
Suspension overhaul is in the work.

Yep. Kinda knew I'd be into it for a lot so I sold my wife on it. It's all stuff I could fix or have fixed if I chose. Didn't buy the cheapest one out there, but didn't fall for the "mint" expensive ones. Got one about 1/3 the way up that price ladder. I knew if I baseline it well, I can keep a vehicle going for a while (I made a Pontiac Montana last to almost 400k, that should say something). My track car (98 328i) has 335k on it and rides like the day I got it at 25k (better actually), and looks really good still (aside from some exterior issues, I add a few feet each year to the "good from far" gauge - function wins over form for her). But the X is such a nice ride and still holds its looks well to the new ones or if you park by others at the dealer. Hard to find a 10yr old car that looks that good and still feels like some good luxury. Plus, the interior has queues to my 328i, so I can scratch the BMW itch a bit throughout the rest of the year too

2005 X5 4.4i sport (build date 12/2004), bought CPO at ~40k-ish miles in 2008, iirc

89k miles

Replaced:

transmission (deity of your choice bless CPO warranty)
transmission fluid (30k after rebuilt trans put in)
front outer CV boots (1 month apart, $50 deductible each time...)
shocks/struts (to Bilstein sports - the yeller ones)
rear strut mounts (preventative)
tension strut bushings (twice)
ball joints (at other end of tension strut)
tie rods
brake pads (rotors at next pad change)
all inspection ii stuff
coolant expansion tank
diff fluid
xDrive fluid (reset via DIS)
water pump
sway bar end links (Front -- 2 times)
Battery (heavy as hell, use bungee cords to move cables out of the way or you can accidentally twang the cables when you don't want to -- then you can replace about 20 fuses and one fusible link -- or so I've heard )

Added:

Intravee ipod controller (and so much more)
Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine 6.5 system up front
JL 6" subs (yes, subs) in stock rear box (with minor trimming of speaker mounting plate)
Factory tow hitch

Replaced:
Front Left air sturt (about 3 weeks into ownership, took it to the dealer and got bent over as i didnt know any better at the time)
Front Right air strut (PO replaced)
Coolant tank and various coolant hoses
Sway bar end links all around
Tension strut ball joints (2)
MKIV nav computer and LCD screen
CV axles (both fronts)
Battery (once so far)
Not too bad in about 5 years of ownership by my self, at least in my eyes, the items i listed are wear items and to are to be expected to be replaced in any car, albeit we do pay a BMW premium for our parts.

Things that i want to do in the near future:
some sort of ipod integration or even just adding aux to the stock unit have not made a decision yet.
Code so AE's are DRL
Lower the truck by coding it.

Question: How rare is it for a 2004 4.4 sport to have 4 corner air bags? i know a lot of people in my area that have face lift e53s and im the only one with EHC ii where as all the others i looked at just have the rear auto level system.

I am at 155,000 kms and hope i can get to that 300,000 mark without any major issues...

Ive owned it from about 230.000km (145k miles)

Engine wise....

New power steering pump
alternator
waterpump done along with powersteering pump
New valve cover gaskets
timing cover gaskets
ccv caps
spark plugs

couple minor stuff here and there...

Problems with it now:
Valve seals Smoking extended idle
Oil leak from somewhere

Has anyone had experience with the "kidney shaped" water/pan/gasket failing that's at the rear of the engine? That one worries me a little.

I just did my valley-pan a few months ago. Hoping that one isn't next - although the VP may be subject to more abuse from heat and the overall sIze of the gasket may make it more prone to failure.
