Ipod Question???

Hi,
Before I put the aux. cable on my X5, I wanted to know if I would be able to use the steering wheel buttons to control the Ipod. i.e. the volume and track change buttons.
Is it worth it putting it on my X5?

Thanks.

Only the volume. If you want the ability to control tracks in addition to volume, you will need the iPod Your BMW kit (which only works with certain X5 without NAV, DSP, etc.) Or just get the Dension Ice Link for your iPod.

IFly is correct: if you do the AUX input, you'll only be able to control the volume with your steering wheel controls.

I have the iPod Your BMW kit, and it works well. It does have some limitations as (again) IFlyX5 mentioned. You can go with dension's kit or go to iPod Your BMW.com for more information on BMW's kit.

The AUX port is nothing more than a headphone jack. No control or charging is offered.

How much does the dension ice link cost?
I really want to put the ipod on my X5 but want to be able to change tracks through the steering wheel controls as well as volume and charging of the unit.
TIA.

Yeah, I'm interested in the Ice>Link Plus too? I just got the new 30G video Ipod, is there a special one for this model?

BTW, I have an 02 w/ DSP and no NAV.

How does this work with sound quality? Is the iceLink any better than just an AUX port? Will you still get cd quality from your iPod using just the AUX?
