Autopartsway does it again!
Debating whether to keep, since I'll need them sooner or later.

Have not heard of front subframe bushings being a wear item. I was curious to why you asked about Lemforder bushings at $17 apiece because I was gonna say the going rate is about $40 apiece for the bushings.

That explains a lot... when I got the box, I was like wth, these are so small... going to return... the right ones aren't in stock, go figure.

That is par for the course with them- my good reason to switch to Rockauto.com. They collect Cdn.taxes, ship USPS so there is no brokerage at receiving end-they take about a week to get goods to Canada- and they are about 30% less the Autopartsway.

Be careful with Rock. Price is amazing, but fit and quality are hardly OE. I used them for parts on my 2000 Montana farm vehicle, to which the parts catered nicely. Seriously - a complete headlight assembly with bulb for $26 and it came with a life time warranty - I still can't get over that.
I do not intend to go that route for the X5 however

If you consider the X5 is assembled in North America, I think it would be naive to think no parts were forthcoming from North American parts manufacturer's. Due to the size of some of these manufacturer's, even if you bought a so called German or European labelled part-it could still well be from a branch of the new world. I replaced a power window mechanism in my X5 with one from Rock. It was ridiculous price structure-it was cheaper to buy the unit with the motor than without-who knew? I always try to buy brand name items when on line, in the case above it was from Dorman. I just ordered a load of sensors for my 540i so we'll see how that goes. Much better price than Autpartsway. I don't know if Autopartsway isn't a branch of the American online vendor Autopartswarehouse- if you go to them they kick you to Autopartsway if they determine you're Canadian. Autopartsway was pretty good at one time they offered free shipping over $75, then $100-now you pay shipping and get higher prices than my local NAPA.

I figure Rock should be safe enough if I go with common brands like Contitech for belts and pulleys, or Powerstop brakes. Gotta research waterpumps, though. Grain of salt taken

Autopartsway.ca has a very limited selection of parts for BMW's.
Personally, I buy from US e-stores. As of today, the best prices & shipping are from FCPeuro.com and Importec. For importec, once you have your cart filled, take a print with an xls sheet with the p/n, description & brand and send to the sales team. They have to activate for you the Canadian site with the parts (they send you a link with all those parts). You have the option of USPS (recommended as opposed to UPS which will rip you off with brokerage & duty charges - same shipping cost for both). FCPeuro has the DHL option which will show up in 2 days and manageable duty tax. The USPS alternative will take 3 days longer. I used both sellers and USPS & DHL options as well in the last 3 months. Stellar. P.S: for Importec, you can use this e-mail once you have the parts in the cart, and he will send you the Canadian links: [email protected]

I'd never heard of Autopartsway; guess I haven't been missing out either. I'd suggest ECS Tuning or BluntTech. BluntTech is my preferred source, especially since they are only a day's shipping away from me. But they can usually beat most anybody's price as well. Not sure how things would be with you being in Canadia and all, but they are worth a shot.
I hope to be meeting Steve Blunt, the owner of BluntTech, this weekend at The Vintage show in North Carolina (I'll be driving the X5 1500 miles to get there!) Among other bling Steve will have there is his latest monstrosity, an '88 E30 M3 with an S85 V10 with 6 speed from a 2010 M5 under the hood. That will be a cool hot rod. http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=121249
