Seems the owners like driving fast/agressive on summer compound tires in cold conditions.
I wish I had a picture of his wrecked 350z............look like no one survived.

Had a feeling this might be posted here...

There's an on ramp to a hwy (BQE) about 1/4 mile from that intersection...that may have played a part. I recall that area very well. Many moons ago whenever stateside, there's an old abandoned airport (Floyd Bennet) about a mile or so from that intersection, we'd take our m'cycles and cars there for unsanctioned drag races. Law enforcement put a stop to it and it became a popular meeting ground for performance autos etc...even taught an old girlfriend how to drive a manual on one of the strips.

That specific intersection is known for stop light races to the hwy on ramp. Perhaps this puts an end to it.

There was a section of LIE (Long Island Expressway) access road that used to be used for street racing when I worked in College Pt, Queens yrs ago. A homeowner was fed up with the cars screaming past his road nightly, he oiled the road and killed a few racers. Bet he's still in prision.
