Hey everyone! So I'm finally making some decent enough money to do some maintenance work on my beautiful baby. I had already changed the front brakes and rotors, and my rear passenger has been squeeling for a while, so I think it is time to change those out. I had seen a DIY on here a while back, but have yet to come across it (the search isn't working for me for some reason). Is the rear brake job as easy (It wasn't THAT easy, but I digress) as the fronts? Amazon has a set of pads, rotors, and sensors for $95 shipped (Calahan) so I'm gonna get to do this project over the weekend.
Other things: The A/C is in limbo as of now. I'm waiting on my friend to get back to me with an invoice from the last time I had service done because apparently it has a warranty. Unfortunately his shop closed last year, so I can't claim the national warranty without a receipt and I misplaced it last year. Once I get that going, I'll have the A/C again (god I miss it in this heat) I ordered some awesome lights (http://amzn.com/B0030276WK) from Amazon to replace my ugly tail lights. I've ALWAYS hated the yellow/Amber, and was always jealous of the other X5 I see around town with the white instead of yellow/Amber part of the blinker. My ride is a nice silver, and always wanted either the clear or "smoked" look of the lights. And I finally got to order them. I don't want to deviate much from stock because I love the stock look, but the yellow/Amber has got to go! Next will be the side marker lights and hopefully soon after the headlights (they are starting to get a nice dullness film over them). I had taken apart my passengers side door and some of the clips broke, so I ordered new clips (and I need to take apart my drivers side door to fix the clip on the window, so this will help in case I break more.) Last time I changed my oil, I needed a 36mm socket that I had to buy and then take back to O'reillys because they wanted 35 dollars for it. I ordered it on Amazon for 8. I had replaced the rear and front emblems with a carbon fiber one from ebay (I like the darker look I'm telling you) and the hood emblem is a nice amber color (I guess the generic ones can't stand the heat). I ordered replacements on Amazon that included both the front, rear, stearing wheel and caps for the wheels. So once the cosmetic is done (lights, emblems, etc.) are done, I'm gonna come back to this thread and show off my beautiful vehicle. I LOVE the stock rims on my car, but want to go black on them (I know, I know) so I am looking into plastidiping them. Does anyone have a silver BMW with these rims in black so I can see what they look like?

Hey guys! So as mentioned, here are the updates.
New tail lights that make it look 100% more badass: ![]() I also replaced the emblems that were no longer carbon fiber/black, but a dull yellow from the heat of the engine and sun: ![]() and I also got some new carbon fiber center caps for the tires: ![]() Next up? A car wash! Sheesh! But I do need to get that AC fixed and also the brakes (when they come in)So what do you guys think of the lights?

So my happiness was short lived.
Some stupid bitch in a Cadillac sideswiped me last night in Sacramento. Completely ruined my night. My poor baby took it like a champ though. I Met up with her today to see how we were going to fix things as she had no license and she didn't want to have her insurance rates go up. She was offering cash. Well cash is fine, if she pays for everything that she damaged. She had a kid with her today. I didn't want to send her to jail after the accident last night, but I was thoroughly pissed. She claimed to have been on the phone. I called her a couple of hours later, and she confessed to being "buzzed" while the accident happened. I did give her a stern talking to today about drinking and driving and that she is lucky that I didn't call the cops after the text messages last night, but just because I can be a nice person, doesn't mean others will give a shit about her. Here is what damage my baby took: ![]() She hit the tire too, so I'm having her replace that as well. I don't fuck with sidewall separation, and any hit that could cause damage to the rim is good enough for me to get the tire replaced out of safety. ![]() Her vehicle didn't take it to well. ![]() As you can see, the middle of the car bumper broke, as well as the whole bottom driver side.

No fucking license?
I don't care what she says, I would have sent her to jail, I don't mess with that. Hope she comes through with enough cash, usually those people are nice up front but they disappear shortly after.

Some insurance companies will not pay a claim if the driver was doing something illegal such as texting or talking on the phone or driving buzz.
How's she going to explain the damages to her car to her husband? She'll just claim some JERK in a BM Trouble U hit her and took off. She didn't get the license number because he blacked it out.

ha ha ha!
I got all her information. She met with me the following day. The hit happened Saturday night, and I met with her yesterday. I have her insurance information. She didn't tell me she was drinking until later on in the night when I tried to talk to her. HAD I known she was drunk at the time, I would have definitely called the cops. For now, I'm hoping to get this fixed this week, otherwise I'm just gonna have the insurance deal with her ass.

SO I added headrest monitors and Depo Smoked Side Marker Lights.
![]() ![]() Here is a video on the headrest monitors. Music Videos on the X5 The passenger side was buggy and has lines through it. Luckily, the monitors are easier to swap out. I need to remove the whole headrest, and the back panel of the seat. Unplug the connector, and reconnect the new monitor and that is it. All preexisting wires are already connected, but the connector plug is in the seat itself to the monitor, so the swap is a 10-20 minute job (Removing the backings of the seat SUCKS ASS!) You have no idea how OEM the headrests look. They are identical! The only thing that sucks is the adapter sleave for the posts are kinda shitty, so they don't really stay up. Since I rarely put them up anyways, this is a no biggie for me.
