Setting sirius stations on Navagation Screen

OK - Naturally I was at a dealership this past week and they put me in a X5 loaner car. The stereo system was the basic one (not the one with navagation). I scanned through the sirius stations that they had programmed and there were about 18 different locations programmed. On my nav screen I can only program 6 (thats all the buttons that I have).

Has anybody programmed more stations that 6 on the nav screen, and is so, how??

Alright Jeff - I pulled out the Owners Manual for Sirius Satellite Radio and it says:

Storing and retrieving a channel
Memory locations

Sirius mod can store 6 channels of your choice

For the basic audio unit:
Sirius mode can store 18 channels of your choice

If anybody has found a way around this for the nav unit, let us know. You would have thought that as much as the nav unit costs they would have expanded that selection choice a little more.

Awesome, TM. Thanks for checking it out. I'll keep playing with it.

Unfortunately, the Electronic Wizards that designed our antique nav systems could not figure out how to have more than 6 presets for Sirius, much less have full song name, and artist display on the screen. Another glaring example of why BMW should sub their entertainment systems and nav to the Japanese.

Do the newer models (3,5 & 7 series) have the same in-efficient nav system or is it any better? I haven't had a chance to play with any of the newer nav equipped cars. BMW better pull up their socks with the new X5. It's a shame to see the Acura , Lexus and other thin metals getting ahead...
