Tire pressure warning light in red light up periodically, what goes wrong?

Hi all. Just a very simple problem, the tire pressure light in cluster lights up in red periodically, sometimes once a month, sometimes even longer or shorter. I checked all 4 tires and found nothing wrong everytime. Do you guys have this problem with your X? What is the problem? Thanks for help!

Can you take a pic of the warning next time it comes on? I ask because my (indirect) tire pressure warning light is yellow (not red). It even says in the owners manual that the light is yellow.

If you have a red light coming on...double check in the owners manual to see if the warning light is actually for the flat tire monitoring system...and not for some other reason.

Taking a pic of the light may also reveal if there's any differences between BMW markets...perhaps your Hong Kong market has a different warning light than here in the USA.

The chart below that details the difference between the direct & indirect tire monitoring systems BMW used during the production of the e53 X5...also shows that both direct & indirect systems uses a YELLOW tell tale warning light:

Hi! Thanks for reply. The light sometimes lights up in yellow, and that indicates flat tires. That happened once to me and I could easily locate the flat tire by my eys at that time. However, it lighted up in red recently and I found nothing wrong each time it lighted up. I just reset the sensor by pressing the button for more than 10 seconds and the light turned to yellow and went out. After that, everything went right without problem.

No, only the TPM light.

Same thing happens to me. Once it happened after I crossed an iron bar on the floor of a gas station, some other times it comes up for no apparent reason, perhaps if the car is parked with one tire on a sidewalk ramp. I also follow the above procedure, press the console button for a while, the light goes yellow and then goes off. Tire pressure is fine when I check it.
