Rear left camber

Took it in for a proper alignment after upper rear front arms, lower rear ball joints and front thrust bushings. They said they couldn't get the camber better than -3 degrees. Where are the adjustment points and what could have gone to keep it this far out? The upper rear arms I replaced do toe, and the lower worn joint I thought was my camber issue. It was shot, but still not it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Theres 3 things to be done in the rear.

The "eccentric arm" aka one that does the toe. You said thats done so good

The read balljoint you also said was done.

Did you do the rear top control arm? Itll be the one dead center behind your rotor.

Depending on the mileage the subframe bushings may be shot as well. Im not sure if this affects camber. Someone else will be able to chime in on that.

Do you have 4 corner air? Are you lowered at all or not?

Mine is at 86k i havent done any replacement yet of joints. Its lowered alot and i had my camber dialed in as close as possible (around -2.7 both sides) and big thing is just get them to do that and have the toe dialed out to zero on both sides. You shouldnt have any bad tire wear after that. Mine has been like this since october on the new rear tires and no abnormal wear, inside edge just like the outside.

In the following link, I did 2 and 6.

RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 4.4i REAR AXLE SUPPORT/WHEEL SUSPENSION

I only have air in the rear. Both are working fine. Small cracks in the bags, but no issues.

I don't believe it's lowered, but I noticed H&R stamped on the front springs. Not sure if they are stock or not, but I doubt it.

Subframe bushings look ok and from the tweaking I could do to assess.

Does 4 and 11 in the diagram also affect camber/adjustable?

Thanks for quick reply.

11 needs to be done. If that has slack it will affect camber.

And i dont believe factory is h&r. Can you post a side shot of the car? Maybe its lowered as well...

Thanks.

Here is only side shot I have with winters.

H&R number was 29378 VA (F). Specs here. Looks to be 30mm lowered on front. Not sure how rear would get lowered - it has air bags.

Also shot in signature was a pic from previous owner

Rears are lowered by links and coding.

Replacing upper rear link (same as 4.8isX5 mentioned) fixed my own camber problem.

Outward appearance was fine but when we pulled it, the bushing had deflected inward noticeably. (Found and replaced while doing rear wheel bearings)

Had previously been unable to get rear camber to spec, now it's back in spec.

Yes you need to do 11, the wishbone control arm affects camber for sure.

Do that arm on both sides and you should be good to go, you already did the other 2 wear items in the rear.

Finally got her back after 4w (see the brake thread for details). Replaced the upper rear arms and slotted the upper left rear slot in case it needed it. Both sides at -1.7 degrees, 0" toe and spot on thrust. I'm tossing the summer rims on tonight.

Cheers.
