Just want to thank user BMW50 for parts

BMW50 was very patient with me. Back in Late January, he was parting out his X5 and I had messaged him regarding the passenger rear door lock actuator and alarm siren. We exchanged emails, he sent me pics and we agreed on a price. Then, due to unforseen circumstances with my family, I had to use most of my funds on an attorney, and couldn't purchase the items from him. I informed him about what was happening with my family and the reason I was holding off, and he was very understanding.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I was cleaning up my emails and I happened to run across the email thread we had. I emailed him to ask if the parts were still available. To my surprise, he responded: They were still available, and he had boxed them up in his room. A couple email exchanges later, and I had been Paypal invoiced and payment had been made. He shipped it off (from Canada to the US) that same day. The parts arrived Saturday.

I was out of town, but when I got home yesterday afternoon, I reviewed the parts. Pristine condition. I woke up early this morning and installed the alarm siren. Took me less than a minute to screw it in place with the bracket. My alarm now works!

After looking at a video online on how to remove the rear panel, I replaced the actuator a few minutes ago. My rear passenger side door lock now works!

I saved over $600 on parts and labor from a mechanic for these fixes, and for that, I thank BMW50!

I think that is what this community is all about. We'll all be down at some point and helping one another out is par for the course. Glad it worked out.

Agreed. I am very thankful for all the input and help I have received here. When people I run into tell me that I must be rich because owning and caring for a BMW is expensive, I simply tell them: With the right resources, you can do alot of the maintenance and fixes yourself. I'm the poorest mofo around, but I love my X.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
He is a pretty awesome guy, I remember he held the Titan Silver trims for me, boxed up for almost a month, as I was trying to round up funds but ended up passing on them. He said no worries at all and thanks for letting him know.

Real cool of him to literally give me the opportunity of a couple weeks waiting time instead of just moving to the next guy. Sent clear pics and everything, A+ dude

that IS what this forum is for. Glad to hear. Keep the good stories comin folks. this world is too full of hate & despair that it turns a persons heart black if you pay attention to it too long. But stories like this show there is still lots of good out there... we just don't share those good stories enough.
