Intro. New Member.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm Ron and own a 2000 X5 4.4. I picked up the X5 from a neighbor that was letting it go at a really great price. A few maintenance, interior upgrades, and exterior touch up things to do, but for the price I am not going to complain.

I live and work in the San Francisco/Bay Area specifically in the East Bay.

The headlight lens are getting to me. I was thinking of just replacing just the lens or buying a newer used pair of Halogens. I'm just not sure yet. A conversion to xenon should be possible in the near future.

Have a good one!

You have the sport model so you should have Xenon lights.

I doubled checked when I was in the middle of purchasing the X5. The headlights are definitely halogen. I actually changed the wheels from 17x7.5 to 18x8.5 and tinted the windows within the 1st week of ownership.

Very nice pick-up. Redo those headlight lenses with the 3M, drill powered kit and you should be good to go. Replacements, as best I recall, are especially expensive.

I might be able to pick up a pair of xenon headlights from a 2001 part out. In better condition and not too expensive. I feel like posting a write up on my "X5 refresh" progress.

Believe it or not although it's rare I have seen sport package equipped cars without xenons (dtmDan)

Way ahead of you on doing a complete change of fluids. I've been reading HOW-TOs and DIYs and prioritizing based on my budget what to initially dive into.
