Lost part of my running boards

Went across my causeway on the weekend after some flooding rain and just noticed that I lost one of the plastic mouldings that runs underneath the aluminium step. Been quoted AU$460 for a new one which I think is a bit steep as the RB option in Oz is only AU$900 complete. Does anyone have any ideas re- reducing the cost and how can I avoid it happening again? The water is not that deep (40 - 50 cm)but is travelling at a fair clip!

AU$460!They are ripping you off!
Did you have the oem plastic moulding?I have the Rbs and kept the originals.I just had a look at both plastic mouldings and it may be possible to adapt/modify your oem to fit!Suggest you take the oem moulding to paintshop to see if they can adapt it!
If you dont have the oem moulding, I am sure some of our members can let you have one for free!

You must contact your local Bmw dealer and order from them!
Realoem.com is just a database for Bmw car parts and aproximate prices,ok!
