heeeelp keys locked in boot/trunk

Hi,
I only got a single key with the X5 (E53) 3 years ago (used car)
I have locked my keys in the trunk, I can see them through
the window, I tried a metal coat hanger through the weather
seals in the trunk all that has done is ruin the seals and I`m
still locked out, I dont want to break any windows as the
scrap yards in the UK rip the the ass out of X5 owners i
was quoted £150 plus postage about $270 U.S

Is there any way in to the car without further damage?
I read there is a way but people dont want to put it on
an open board? if so, could someone please pm details
of how to do it???

Thanks very much
Jaima.

I've been on E46 & E53 forums for over 10yrs, haven't EVER heard of an alternate way into them. Good idea is to put the valet key in a mag case and attach to chassis, little late for that now.

I believe there is an article either on this forum or somewhere else. It's you put a thin metal hook into the door close to the handle, reach that position and unlock the leash. I think the original article was related to a winter frozen door handle or something. Google it. Best of luck!

If it's a "slim jim" process, a good local locksmith should know it. I've heard from several BMW owners (TX and FL) that locksmiths have told them "slim jim" DON'T work on BMWs.

You need to get a long metal rod and open up the door enough to hit the door unlock switch on the center console. Either that or call a mobile glass service and have them remove the front windshield and reinstall the front windshield.

I have locked my keys couple times but I always have a second key at home to open doors. One time wife locked herself out in town in e39 and road service guy opened door in few seconds using "slim jim"
