It still may be a good deal. Do you know if the engine and transmission are OK?
It would be fun to call them and ask something like--I like the looks of the X5 and we need something with more space. I have been looking at the 4.4 but this is a 4.6? What is different about the 4.6?

I messed with a lot of dealers when shopping for mine. The one guy said "I'm going to take my chances and sell it to someone that doesn't know as much as you". That was after I blew out his brake line and pointed out all the things that were wrong with it.
