How to preload the suspension

Hi Guys,

I am wondering if somebody knows how to preload the rear suspension without bolting on the wheels.It would be nearly impossible to get under to tighten and torque the bolts after a complete overhaul.

I Just bought 4 Rhino ramps,but even using those it's gonna be quite challenging.

Any input is appreciated.

Place some blocks of wood under the swing arm approx a foot high and lower the suspension until it slightly rests on the wood. Should simulate having a wheel on the car fairly well

You'll need additional weight in the vehicle with this method because the load bearing point of where the wood is reduces the "leverage" effect of how far away the center of the tire contact patch is from the swing arm pivot point. Make sure the vehicle is safely supported and have four adults sit in it while you snug down the bolts. You should end up very close to the proper ride height when finished.

You brought the wrong ramp system. Get one of these.




Check the load capacity, that Lotus is probably under 1000 lbs.
