Greasy cv boot less than 2 yrs after last replaced?!
, and never turn steering wheel when the car is stand still. How could it broke prematurely? Could it be improper installation? Could it be cheap part?

Most CV Boots break because they are the cheap Chinese stuff.
The BMW CV Boot is made by GKN-Lobro and it is very beefy. The BMW boot should last some 90K-100K.

One of the problems that I see with the front CV boots failing on X5 is that the wheels turn at a relatively big angle, compared to any other SUV or FWD car.So the way the car is driven really matters for the longevity of the boots.

Boots break because of hundreds/thousands of R/L turns. If you drive primarily on the highway, it easily lasts some 90K-100K.
