No arm wrestle and thanks for your expression but if someone takes offense I believe we're all grown people who can speak up for themselves. Then you know for sure if a post is meant in jest, trying to be funny or downright rude. I could be wrong but that just my opinion....

I don't think it matters what the intended meaning is for such posts. Nor do I think that it matters who speaks up. The comments were posted for all to read. At that point the posts are open to response from anyone adult or not. It may sound like I am writing on behalf of OP, I am not. I am merely suggesting consideration of another route that would be universally understood and accepted as friendly and respectful.

Hmmm...where should I start.... I guess I should start when I first registered to this forum. It was intimidating just to start a thread from fear of gettin flamed. Most of the time , whenever someone would ask a question that seamed obvious to the "senior" BMW enthusiast, they would get ridiculed and bullied by some individuals.
On the other hand , you had those who would reply within seconds to try and help you out if in need. Some had compassion for a fellow member when things weren't going well. Others always had a good word to lighten things up when the tension was getting too high. We have a perfect example of this behaviour in this single thread alone. This thread was about saying thank you to people I've never met that went out of their way to try and help me. It was about saying how I appreciate all the work that is put into a forum like this to keep it alive. It was never created to get approval or to be ridiculed and bullied about the decision I made about what freaken brand or car I will be driving in the future to replace my X. Once again the bullies have spoken and all they have achieved is to remind me how it was the first day I registered.
Too bad really , some of you will always look down on others because of what....cause you drive a BMW? or cause you have the longest list of how many BMW's you owned? Cause you have the wealth to buy a luxury car? Maybe just because , no matter what you drive or how much money you have , deep down you are assholes and you will always be one.

Again thanks to the ones that got to know me more and helped out when I was in need. C-ya!

Appreciate that you spoke out. Hopefully, it will help make the forum better.

Wow I guess it 's true: I doesn't matters what the intended meaning for the posts in this thread we're. Turns out the OP feels he was intimidated, bullied, and ridiculed when in reality the impression i got was that some were being light hearted at his expense. Personally didn't think people that commented in this thread deserved to be called assholes. But hey it's an open forum you can get offended and accuse people of anything you wish. In the end I guess it tells us who a person really is. Just think of this profound conclusion. Cause you drive a BMW. You have the longest list of how many BMW's you owned, You have the wealth to buy a luxury car. No matter what you drive or how much money you have , deep down you are assholes and you will always be one. Yep this is going to make the forum better......

No worries bro, the assholes know who they are. If you read the thread from the start, you'll see from my replies i don't mind some teasing when it's ment in good fun.
As for the "profound conclusion" as you call it , i sure hope it will help the forum. Hopefully some individuals will realize we get snobbed by people on the street because we drive luxury cars, and we do the same thing among us. We probably deserve getting dings on our side panels outa dispite. We probably did not work hard enough to enjoy this luxury , we have to work even harder to have respect from our own fellow bmw enthousiasts. What are we , 4 years old?

You are absolutely spot on correct. The posts in question were left to the impression of the reader. That is exactly the the problem. I may not have used the term a$shole but it clearly expresses his impression of those posts. It is also correct it was at his expense. That is also part of the problem.
