Just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you may know me from Bimmerforum. I'm very familyar with E39 but obviously have a lot to learn about E53.
I just bought this 93K miles Sapphire Black 2003 X5 4.6is and it's in extremely good condition. 2 owner southern car, clean carfax. Paint and interior are unbelievable and it has $25k in receipts including: Brand new tires, brakes on all 4 corners, battery, alternator, valley pan, instrument cluster, 3 window regulators and I'm forgetting few things.
I went over it on my lift and concluded it needs the following: reservoir to pump power steering hose and air filter and since it's approaching 100k miles I've ordered NGK BKR6EQUP plugs and Bosch 13477 pre cat O2 sensors.
Other than that, it drives like a dream.
Forgot to add: Instead refinishing VC covers like most of us, PO sprung for new ones which was $1k+ repair bill by itself. Also, he's done upper TC cover gaskets as well.
The best part is that I paid $11.3k.
