Thanks Motordavid, I actually posted on that thread. I think I will search for my original post years ago when I installed the Drawtite hitch and what wiring harness I used.

We just towed our jet boat to the Dunes and spent a really nice day boating and relaxing.

Hey all, thanks for your help. I checked all fuses but none were blown. Then I remembered that when I installed trailer harness years ago there was a fuseable link. I had to take the spare out to get to it but it was fine as well.

Long story short, I took the boat out to gas it and it was still acting up. By putting a nickel in trailer brake slot it deactivates the trailer brakes so that is what I did. Then when I took the boat out for the season it started working fine. I suspect it was a ground issue so might not know where the ground fault might be. Thanks for all of your help.

i pull boats all the time but none of them have trailer brakes. . .I saw someone comments on a fuse in the trailer wiring harness. Where is that!!? I pulled my dads car hauler with a jacked wiring harness (on accident) a while back and ever since my mirrors don't sense when I go into reverse and my left turn signal flashes fast like a bulb is out but it isn't. I checked all my fuses on the front and rear panels and they are all good but if there an inline fuse in the trailer harness somewhere, that has got to be it.

The way the brakes on these newer boat trailers work is the trailer has a hydraulic piston that engages as you slow down and applies the brakes accordingly. On many of the boat trailers there is a fail safe thing that applies the brakes when reverse is engaged on the tow vehicle. I don't know if they are specific to boat trailers due to someone losing a trailer on a boat ramps in the water. I know it was not a fuse on my trailer because it worked with my daughters Toyota Truck after it failed on my X5. I am pretty sure now it was a ground issue on the X5 trailer harness because it started working again.
