ALL 4.8iS had full air suspension, it was standard equipment on that model.

What was optional was 02-06 4.4i and 3.0i models, it was a separate option which one needed to have Sport Package and Sports Suspension settings also selected, and the EHCII was an additional option above that.

Yes the values for default ride height will affect access and offroad height.

For example, if you set default ride height to be 20mm lower than stock (effectively access height from the factory) and then lowered your switch to the "access setting" in a parking lot, you would be another 20mm lower at access, so your access mode would be lower than "stock access" mode and 40mm lower than the original setting. However, after 55kmh your ride height would go back to the saved default setting (which was set to 20mm lower than stock in my example)

No issues with driving with a lowered air suspension X as many members lower the air ride 20mm or more on a "default" ride height setting and drive it daily. Some members also drive even lower than that. Handling may be a little worse because of less pressure in the bags however.
