huh? do you really think altitude or air density changes significantly between Disneyworld and Daytona?
That's all I can make out of this post, sorry ....

There is only a 60ft elevation difference between Kissimmee and Daytona Beach. Today the barometric pressure was ~29-30" both places. Dewpoint was about the same. Only real difference I can see was about a 10F temperature change.

Since North is up as in up North and South is down as in down South the farther you go up north the thinner the air gets . That's why not many people live in Alaska and they use dog sleds to get around. Same goes for altitude, you are going uphill when traveling North.

i thought air gets thinner with altitude, as in height... thinner air in mountains - is it Chile or Peru with highest altitude village... and i thought not as many people live in alaska because it is cold there...
i am lost here... doesn't the engine have an altimeter to tell the DME how to mix the fuel/air mix?

Lots of amateur comedians here, willy. Terminator might be getting to something, though - is there an altimeter or similar control that might have your fuel mix out of wack, even if its not related to leaving the comforting environment of Disneyworld for the beach?

![]() ![]() i found this=What Does the IAT Sensor Do? In a nutshell, the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor helps the PCM (Powertrain Control Module = Fuel Injection Computer) make a correct measurement of the air mass that enters the engine. The main reason why the PCM needs to know the temperature of the incoming air, is that temperature has an effect on the density of the air the engine is breathing. The denser the air, the more fuel the PCM has to inject into the engine. Using the info provided by the MAF sensor, the PCM only gets to know the flow rate of the incoming air. With the IAT sensor, it get's to know the temperature of that incoming air and then is able to better calculate how dense that air is. Calculating the flow rate and density of the air that the engine is breathing at any given time helps the PCM maximize everything from fuel consumption to performance. Quote:
