Dynavin N6 install -Pics!

So as I promised, I installed my N6 today.Below are a few pictures of the install..sorry about the quality of the pictures..phone camera and bad lighting is what you see.

Ok onto the install...pretty straight forward...take out old radio, cut part of the plastic bracket with a dremel tool and install the metal brackets provided..

It came with a bunch of cables but I only installed the following:

-car harness to N6
-Radio antenna
-GPS antenna
-Mic.for bluetooth

Very interesting. I have a couple questions for you

What is that screen with the 1er on it?

How is the UI?

Did you happen to take any pictures of the back of the unit?

And how does it work with the OBC?

no pics of the back..i can take a few tomorrow and post them..
the screen with the 1er is supposed to be the OBC and all the info there...on some cars like the E90 they show the coolant and oil temp..not on mine.

the responsiveness of the screen is very good..the menu is simple - i like it..

But i noticed even more problems...steering wheel controls dont work with the unit...bluetooth and eveything else works...phone calls , music

UPDATE: Everything works now after I installed the CAN interface box.Steering wheel controls as well as the OBC info like coolant temp and ambient temp show on the display.

Did the unit not come with steering wheel module? Or maybe N6 has it built in? I have previous version of Dynavin in my M3 and it came with external module for steering wheel control that connects to the wire harness behind the unit. Eonon in my X5 also came with external module for steering wheel control. Both works perfectly with all radio control buttons.

So, are you serious? he told you it would work with the stock DSP amp and all you are getting is million mile echo... and that's after you have passed the point of no return by cutting up your dash?

wow... that says alot about customer service there!

You gotta be shitting me. Jeff literally emailed me to tell me it now works with DSP in North America, and Europe cars are fine with it.

Steering wheel controls don't work either?

Are you sure it doesn't need a firmware update?

Big Black chill out. He posted pretty much at midnight....I'm sure Jeff will help him out. Anyway, subscribed - I was also looking into this N6 solution, and I thought it would work with DSP. I actually asked Jeff about it a few days ago, because there is a difference in DSP's: pre and post '04.....(pretty much like the facelift change)
Looks like the pre '04 DSP's work with the N6, and that was my fear. Although Jeff thinks it shouldn't be the case. We shall see.

That would be the suxors if true. I have 9/2003 build so I'm right on the cusp.

And in all honesty to Bigblack, four.8is should have prob plugged it in before cutting up the dash to make sure it worked properly lol.

Ok guys I clearly might have done something wrong.Jeff said if it wouldn't have worked with DSP, the sound would turn off in 40 sec.
That's not the case with mine.
I indeed have not installed the steering wheel control module and that's because there was no plug to use it with.
I asked Jeff for a complete install video or PDF .At this point I'm sure I've done something wrong but I don't see where...I'll try to email him a few pictures and show him my install step by step.maybe we will figure it out .
I took off work just to make this thing work lol
Stay tuned , I'm positive we will make it work.
