Another 4.8is front end sagging thread (sorry)

Greetings all, searched the forums on this specific question and found none. My '05 4.8is with 42k miles has a sagging front end after sitting overnight, both sides sag the same amount and both sides lift evenly once the vehicle starts. I assume this is not a leak in or failure of one of the air bags but rather a leak in a connection between the struts, at the compressor itself, or elsewhere in a line or connection shared by the two front struts.

Any thoughts or suggestions on where to start would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

You assume wrong.

Your bags are both leaking overnight not due to a connection, but because the actual rubber/plastic air bag material is shot due to age and probably 10 winters in the Northeast. Mine were shot on my 9/2003 build when I purchased in 12/2011, and probably were leaking for a while before I bought it. Similar age.

Replace the pair, with Arnott Industries replacements.

Do it somewhat soon, because in the meantime when you are driving your X around your compressor is working double time to keep the bags inflated to the default ride height. It only leaks down overnight because the compressor is in sleep mode.

You're welcome.
