The name is Josh and I hope to learn all I can about this vehicle. Not only new to this vehicle but new to BMW so with that said what should I do maintenance wise? 06 X5 3.0 with 113K. Thanks

Do a 100,000 miles service since your X is close to 100,000 miles and if the PO was getting rid of the X it is very likely that he didn't bother with the 100,000 miles service.

First, read your owners manual...there's a lot of stuff you'll discover that you may not figure out right away. There is also information about routine/preventative maintenance (like brake fluid renewal, engine coolant changes, & oil changes).

Pay attention to your X...when things pop up...don't ignore them...the longer you ignore signs & symptoms...the worse the problem will get, and perhaps even more expensive.

Again, the vehicle is designed to communicate with you through the Service Interval display and the Check Control system when things are wrong...as well as the OBD II (Service Engine Soon) system. (all explained in the owners manual)

Thanks for the info guys. I didnt receive a owners manual with the vehicle but I ordered one today. I will check it out when I receive it.

What are common problems or things to pay attention to?

You can type "BMW e53 owners manual PDF" into a google search box...and find manuals in PDF format that you can download to your CPU or other mobile device (if you have Adobe Reader or PDF App)...that way you'll have access to it at anytime you need it...as well as the ability to do a word search which is much easier to find info.

If for some reason your specific model year isn't available...just download the one closest to your model year. BMW design architecture doesn't change very much...you could actually read through any BMW owners manual from other models of the same generation (e38/e39/e46/e52/e53) and will know how to operate everything that is in your vehicle. Heck, you could really not miss much reading through an e32/e34/e36 manual...at least the "icons" will look the same...some buttons will be in a different location...but how they perform/work will be basically the same that any one could extrapolate to the set-up in your X.
