BMW X5 E53 (03) 3.0D - AUX Fan and Droning Issue After 2 Months with Dealer

Good Evening All,

I am running low on patience at the moment I put my faith in my dealer to correct a squeaking issue from my rear wheel and then a squeak from from pulley.

After 2 months and several days with the dealer they have managed to correct the issue on the rear by replacing sub frame bushes rose join and have a full geo setup.

In terms of the front engine they have stripped countless times and replace all pulleys including idle and complete tensioners. The front block has a new bottom pulley and the only sqeek left is from the Air Con pump which is new but I had to pin point that one via trial and error. We have had a complete set of belts.

My frustration here is the car is now 80% fixed and is mint condition but I am left with two bizarre issue which i am hoping with you assistance I can narrow down instead of being given the run around by the dealer.

1, The AUX fan since the last dealer work on the front of the engine has decided to kick in randomly even when there is no A/C turned on but the temp gauge remains static, this is abnormal behaviour even a low speed I hear it kick in. My though are to replace the temperature sensor but unsure if there is one or two. the car has a new water pump as that had play in it and use Waterless coolant.

2, I now have an interesting droning, squalling noise when pulling away forward when the car is cold this noise changes pitch and time but seems very strong at 30mph and then disappears after the car is hot it is gone until it cools down. The dealer is struggling to fix and claims it is normal behaviour but it wasnlt there when I gave them the car. The automatic box was replace 1 year ago along with torque converter, I have had all the fluids checked and everything appears ok, there are no errors in the ECU.

I am looking for any ideas people may have as I feel I let my mint condition X5 down.

Regards,
Stuart
