Turn signal stalk replacement.

I guess my incessant high-beaming of Oregon left lane blockers was too much, and I broke my high beam/signal stalk. Any special trick to replacing it? I can't find an instructional on YouTube.

I actually have switched my stalk a couple of years ago, the process is fairly easy:
- unplug battery,
- remove airbag,
- remove steering wheel
- remove plastic cover for the steering column and I think there are a couple of bolts to release the stalk itself.... That's the high level list I think.

Hopefully others can give their input on stuff that I missed. Good luck

Since the steering wheel/column set-up is pretty much the same on all BMWs of that generation (e38/e39/e46/e52/e53)...I'm sure there's a DIY write-up somewhere on one of those model's forums that you could extrapolate for ideas on how to do it on the e53.

I'd do a google search phrase using each of those models and "replace turn indicator stalk" and see what comes up.

Good luck.
