When you first mentioned those pads while back I did some searching and found how common they are on corvettes. More than a few posts mentions bedding in as you noted.

I too would be concerned with that much heat. Pure guess here but is the discoloration toward the center due to the heat build up there vs the outside edge that cools quicker from vents in rotor or do we only see color where the pads have not worn off a coating?

Wonder if this discoloration is a coating discoloring from heat or the actual metal of the rotor. What is weird is that where the rotor is worn in by the pads the discoloring is gone. Just a guess.

I just installed Brembo rotors and they came with a funky uv resistant paint all over them. The info on their site notes uv paint now replaces old oil coating for rotor shipping and protects against rust on the non wear surfaces. It threw me a bit in install since the entire rotor surface had a thin painted coating.

Hope you sort this all out soon since I am still interested in your long term review in those pads

What I noticed is that the color you guys see in the pictures is slowly fading away...so I can't have a definite answer on what that was but if it was heat, it would have stayed there but It looks like it's slowly going away so maybe it was just the protective coating that hasn't been washed off completely...will give it a few more days ...
Now I just gotta wash those wheels and see how long it takes for these pads to dust them up again
